Fractional GC - Jack collaborates with you and your leadership team to devise a tailored scope of work, schedule, and rate that aligns with your business's growth stage. He integrates with your team to offer thorough legal guidance for daily operations and develops systems to secure the company's long-term interests.
Contract Drafting, Review, and Negotiation - Jack skillfully negotiates complex commercial agreements and transactions. He educates and guides client teams on essential contract terms and issues, creating contract playbooks for streamlined operations.
Risk Management and Litigation - Proactively, Jack establishes policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and protect the company from potential third-party liabilities. He oversees outside counsel and, under specific terms, engages in litigation on behalf of his clients.
Regulatory Compliance and Government Relations - Jack possesses extensive experience working directly with government agencies to address enforcement actions, respond to information requests, negotiate resolutions for alleged regulatory violations, manage permitting processes, and negotiate access agreements and memoranda of understanding, among many other government interactions. Jack has unique expertise helping clients navigate compliance with complex Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, NEPA, OSHA, and MSHA, among others. Jack has worked extensively with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Department of Justice (DOJ), United States Department of Defense (DOD), the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), among others, along with analogous State agencies in jurisdictions across the country.
Real Estate - As in-house counsel for one of the largest landholders in the State of Missouri, Jack worked closely with the company’s real estate group on sales, purchases, transfers, easements, land exchanges, zoning, and other real estate transactions.
